I Really Know What I'm Doing! {Boston Family Photographer}

The quote from the title of this entry is not coming from me, but rather Ellie, 7-and-a-half, who said during her family’s session “After five years of doing this, I really know what I'm doing!”

I have been photographing Ellie and her family for, you guessed it, five years now. I was recently reflecting on the fact that it has now been ten years since I moved back to Boston from West Palm Beach, Florida! I never would have imagined ten years ago that I would have a steady collection of wonderful people who trust me with capturing their annual family photos.

Here is a collection from my fall shoots this year. It’s been a super-busy season and the season isn’t quite over yet, but I wanted to share just the same.

• Fall Sessions Wrap-Up! {Boston Family Photographer} •

Autumn was busy and fun for Cydney Scott Photography! Here's a peek at some of those sessions. We had twins, we had grown siblings, we had extended families, dancing, tree hunting and even a few beloved family dogs! We can't forget them!

Sandi and her Family

I've been photographing Sandi, her husband Brian, and their kids for years and years and oh-my-gosh-look-how-little!, and I always enjoy seeing them. This year we met at Salem Willows Park (the site of this year's Fall Session Day)

One extra nice thing about Sandi is that she always reminds me and encourages me to shoot candid when I'm with her family. Sometimes I get so into portrait mode that I forget the strength that comes from being a fly on the wall, and the fact that I love shooting that way!

Finley and Vivian {Boston Portrait and Family Photographer}

These two had the nerve to both have winter birthdays. Sheesh! So, we headed out into the very snowy outdoors to photograph Vivian, 1, and Finley, 3. (I'd make a joke about their adorableness melting the snow, but I pride myself on more witty humor).

Still pretty dang cute, snow or no snow.

Holidays! {Boston Portrait Photographer}

I've been a bit neglectful of this here blog, so here is a little slideshow of some photos I shot for clients seeking holiday pics. Not wanting to share photos which clients might want to share themselves on their holiday cards, I decided to keep them to myself til after the new year. I think it's safe now. Also for your viewing pleasure is my own silly holiday card featuring my pup Harlow!

Jocelyn {Boston Newborn Photography}

This is three-and-a-half week old Jocelyn who I met just this past weekend.  She was one happy and contented little girl, let me tell you. And pretty darn cute to boot. I had a great time photographing her sweet face (complete with dimples) in her parents' cool South Boston home.

Brr, It's COLD Out Here! {Boston Portrait Photographer}

but you wouldn't know it to look at Jenny, Greg and Andy, because they dealt with our chilly session at the Habitat Education Center and Wildlife Sanctuary in Belmont like total troopers!  This edit is a small one because I don't want to ruin the plot of their holiday cards. I especially like the first shot with Mr. Lion. I'm a fan of the inclusion of our stuffed friends.

Fall Sessions 2014 {Boston Portrait Photographer}

With the cute kid factor off the charts, beautiful weather and perfect fall leaves, this year's fall sessions were a great success! My clients were rock stars, taking on the crazy Salem traffic and even a rain delay in the middle of the day. Salem Willows Park was a new location for CSP and it served my current and new clients well, I thought!

The Callanans {Boston portrait photographer}

I got an email from the wife of a classmate of mine from good old Wakefield High weeks ago. Her in-laws had their heart on our beautiful Wakefield Common, and while I tried to talk them out of it because getting nice shots there can be trickier that one might think (people on the common, on the gazebo, poor light, too much green glow from trees, a dark gloomy lake), they wanted to give it a try anyway. We got a beautiful day for it and they were such a fun bunch to work with too!

Vivian {Boston Newborn Photographer}

Vivian was also a New Years Day baby! Yay for 2014! I have photographed her big brother Finley many times (like here and here), and photographed their parents wedding, too.

Not only was I babysitter to their dad, CJ (I was an extremely YOUNG babysitter!), but we have been friends for many years too. I love photographing them and I love how their love for one another come through in their sessions. Every time.

Finn is a happy, adored boy and Vivian is lucky to be joining this super fun family.

This one was tough to edit down!

Edith {Boston Newborn Photographer}

It's newborn month here at Cydney Scott Photography! This little peanut Edith is the baby of my dog walker, Amanda. Amanda and her mom Bonnie have been walking my Harlow since I adopted her a few months back.

Edith was born on New Year's Day and I got to her within a week and a half and got some shots. She's a doll!
