• Cassandra and Co! {BOSTON PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER} •

Cassandra, an American living and working with her fiance in London, got in touch with me before coming home for the holidays. She, her fiance, and her brother and his fiance, would be all together with their parents and they wanted to book a session.

I loved this! As a person who comes from a family of grown-ups and no grandkids myself, I know first hand how we can forget to update our family shots as the years go by, whether or not little ones are in the picture (pun intended).

Cassandra and Co were fun to work with, game to try anything, and so patient as we traversed the landscape of Menotomy Park in Arlington. Here's a small sampling.

• Fall Session Round-Up {boston portrait photographer} •

OK, I'll admit it; I'm putting on my lazy hat right now. Well, no, not really, but I am putting a collection of my favorite shots together from my sessions this season and sharing them with you all together, rather than doing multiple blog entries.

I attempted my annual fall session day before I left on vacation in October, but both the actually event day and it's rain date got cancelled due to stormy skies (shakes fifts at the heavens!). When I returned, I managed to schedule a second attempt, and my clients were excited to try again. Until it began to rain after I got only one session out of the way.

So, off to the second rain date we went (or does that make it the third? I don't know, I've lost track at this point). Some got their shots done on that sunday rain date, others went out of their way to meet me in the middle to get their sessions completed. I hope everyone loved their results!

Thanksgiving is coming, and I'm feeling thankful indeed.

• Tommy {BOSTON FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER} •

The fall brings with it leaves and cider, and lots of smiles into my lens (the holidays are great incentive for clients to get in touch)! Tommy, while he looked serious (and disgruntled) in a few of these shots, is a beautiful little man with parents who adore him and a grandma who's a champ at peek-a-boo (very helpful for family shots!).

European Adventure

I feel really fortunate to have super friends and to be able to travel. Annually, I join two of my friends, Nirvi and Libby, on a girls trip somewhere. In the past we have visited Leesburg, VA (lovely shops and great wineries!), New Orleans, Puerto Rico, and Quebec.

This past year (because she's wicked smaht), Nirvi was promoted from her role at Politico in DC to Politico in Brussles, Belgium (Oh no! We'll just have to have the girls trip in Europe this year!).

Nirvi, Libby and I spent a few days in Paris (though Libby, who hails from FL, was delayed a day by Hurricane Matthew). Then Libby and I continued on to Nice, France where we were joined by her friend Samantha for a few days. After that, Libby went back to the States and I visited Nirvi in Brussels.  And then, since I was over there anyway so why not, I traveled to Barcelona for a few days alone, because I've always wanted to go there.

Please remember that while I am happy to share these with you, all of the images on this site are copyrighted, so don't let me catch you selling t-shirts with a my photo of a crepe-maker on them!

• Lily's Cake Smash! {Boston baby photographer} •

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of having my first cake smash session!

As the purpose of such a session is to commemorate a baby's first birthday, it was Lily's first cake smash too!

I brought along some garland I'd made for a party of my own last spring, and we cleared out Lily's bedroom to accommodate the event. Her brother Alexander got in on the action too.

It was great fun to see Lily - it's been a year and she's grown so much! - and also a great time shooting something new!

• Johnson String Instrument/Carriage House Violins Catalog {Boston business photographer} *

I love working with Johnson. It's a nice change of pace and being around such craftsmanship is always so interesting and inspiring to me! Click on the shot of Amelia below to see the recent work I did (with the help of creative directors Maureen Wall,  Heather Shaw and  Silvija Kristapsons) for their catalog.  It's designed by Pat Nieshoff

• Caitryn's Senior Session {Boston Senior Photographer} •

First of all, can we all just stop for a moment and appreciate Caitryn's totally cool name?

Thank you.

Now that we have that out of the way, I met with Cait, who will be a high school senior in the fall (woot!) and her mom in Salem for her session. The light was beautiful and while there were lots of people in the city that evening, we didn't much care. There was no shortage of lovely spots to photograph Cait in.

Here are some of my favorites.

Look Out, World! Cora's Here! {Boston Newborn Photographer}

I was flattered and excited to be asked to photograph the first child of my coworker Andy and his wife Elizabeth. I learned of Cora's arrival well before arrival time, so I had a lot of waiting and looking-forward to do.

When it finally came time for the spotlight, Cora was skeptical of me I think, but in the end, we did just fine. I love her sweet, thoughtful little face!

Avery and William! {Boston Family Portrait Photographer}

These little snuggle bunnies have grown a lot in the past year. I was excited when their mom got in touch for a one year session. Photographing them (as is always the case with any human between the age of one and four), is like trying to keep cats in a wheel barrow.

I've actually never tried to put cats in a wheel barrow, but I imagine it's an interesting challenge, as is photographing humans between the ages of one and four. They were fun and squirrely and curious and busy in all the best ways.

The G Family {Boston Family Photography}

Lisa and I had to reschedule their first family session when the weather decided to not cooperate (Thanks a lot New England!). Second time was a charm though and we had beautiful weather to romp through the Fells with Lisa, her husband and their cuties!

Alexander's Here! {Boston Newborn Photography}

It's been a busy month for me and I really love that; love taking pictures, love that people want me taking their picture. All good things!

 Emily and Joe hired me to shoot their wedding a few years back and I was very excited to hear from Emily's mom, asking me to photograph her new grandson Alexander!

Greyson & Co. {Boston Newborn Photography}

Take Ellen and Kyle, two lovely and loving people, their new little man Greyson, (plus a sweet rescue dog) and combine them with perfect light and super interiors, and you've got a session every photographer hopes for!

Kristin and Co. {Boston Family Portrait Photographer}

Kristin, her husband Will and their four legged Cocoa met me at the wonderful Wright's Pond for a session. Unfortunately, they brought their really difficult and ugly kids Hanley and Davis (insert sarcasm font here).  At the risk of sounding like a sixteen year old, they were adorbs!
